Naga Eight Closes Its Batujimbar Home, Preparing for a New Chapter in Sanur

SANUR, BALI, 29 OCTOBER 2026 — Naga Eight has concluded its final service at its Batujimbar location on25 October 2026, bringing its first chapter in Sanur to a close after nearly five years. As the Batujimbar property on Jalan Danau Tamblingan is set for redevelopment, the Cantonese restaurant is preparing to move to a new location along Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, with plans to reopen in the first quarter of 2027.

Since opening in December 2021, Naga Eight has brought Cantonese cuisine to Sanur through its signature roasted duck, handcrafted dim sum, classic wok dishes and meals made for sharing. Housed in a setting inspired by Bali’s traditional wantilan architecture, the restaurant brought together Cantonese dining traditions and the communal spirit of its surroundings.

Over the years, its tables have witnessed far more than meals. There have been birthday candles, Sangjit ceremonies, weddings, family reunions, first meetings and lunches that stretched into the afternoon. Some guests came for a particular dish; others returned for familiar faces, favourite seats and the comfort of a place they knew. Together, these moments became part of Naga Eight’s story.

The restaurant’s final evening at Batujimbar brought many of those people together once more. Co-founder Prami Pratiwi expressed her gratitude to the regular guests, neighbours and team who had helped shape the restaurant over the years.

“Thank you to everyone who has been part of Naga Eight and helped make it what it is today. I’m especially grateful to our regular guests, our neighbours and our team, who bring Naga Eight to life every day. Having everyone here on our final night of service means so much to us,” Pratiwi said.

Fellow co-founder Gede Karilo addressed the restaurant’s next chapter, explaining the reason for the relocation and the team’s hopes for its return.

“With the redevelopment planned for the Batujimbar area, this marks our final day of operations here. We’ll be moving to a new location along Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, not far from here, and hope to reopen in the first quarter of 2027,” Karilo said.

Following the co-founders’ speeches, guests gathered on the lawn for a final toast. As the Naga Eight hosts poured wine and raised their glasses alongside guests, the evening offered a fitting farewell to the restaurant’s Batujimbar home. It was a moment shared by the people who had helped shape the restaurant over the years, bringing this chapter to a close while looking ahead to what comes next.

As preparations for the move begin, Naga Eight will carry forward the culinary traditions and hospitality that have shaped its identity from the start. Its commitment to Cantonese cuisine and the simple pleasure of bringing people together around the table will remain central to its next chapter.

Naga Eight is temporarily closed during the transition. Further details about its new location and reopening will be shared through the restaurant’s official channels. For everyone who has been part of this journey, the team extends its heartfelt thanks. Batujimbar has been home to Naga Eight since its beginnings, and the memories made here will remain part of its story.

The dragon rests. The story continues.
